Dr. John R. Melnick serves as Director of Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) and Oncologic Imaging at Lenox Hill Radiology and Medical Imaging Associates P.C., a diagnostic radiology facility with six locations in the New York City metropolitan area. Lenox Hill Radiology was one of the first imaging facilities in New York to feature a PET scanner, as well as first to receive PET accreditation from the American College of Radiology. Lenox Hill Radiology also features the state-of-the-art Gemini GXL PET/CT scanner.
A board-certified radiologist, Dr. Melnick has a long-standing interest in oncologic imaging using MRI, CT, and PET/CT procedures. He utilizes his expertise with the PET/CT system for highly effective diagnosis and staging of malignant diseases. After receiving his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, he completed a residency at North Shore University Hospital, an affiliate of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. Dr. Melnick then completed a Fellowship in Abdominal and Pelvic Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and he earned the distinguished status of Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School. With extensive training in non-vascular interventional radiology and PET/CT imaging, Dr. Melnick remains on the leading edge of medicine. He shares his knowledge as a Clinical Instructor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
